Tennis
The biggest and best tennis event in the last decade will take place in about 6 weeks at Mayfair Lakeshore. The tennis department will be running our first ever tennis Calcuttaas part of our “special” day on June 14th, 2012. All 32 teams will be auctioned off on the eve of the 13th in the adult lounge at the Lakeshore. Club members will be invited to participate in a “free” tennis mixer from 630pm to 830pm – all participants will be offered wine and cheese while the auction takes place. All players will be asked to contribute a minimum $20 bet on one of the 32 teams. 60 percent of all proceeds will go to the Heart and Stroke foundation. 40 percent of the overall pool will go to those who hold the winning teams. Don’t miss out as this will be a tennis classic. Calcutta’s make for some very interesting and competitive tennis with money on the line. As some of you are aware, Mayfairclubs has organized a massive Spinathon at the West in previous years with all the proceeds going to the Heart and Stroke foundation. This year’s spinathon has moved to the Lakeshore – the event has quadrupled in size with multiple events taking place at Mayfair Lakeshore – with one of the marquee events being our first ever Tennis Calcutta. Mayfair Lakeshore will once again be offering our Summer Play tennis package. A great deal if you love to play tennis several times a week. Our non-prime rates are $125 + HST, if you want to play in prime-time, the all you can play package is $225 + HST – a terrific deal if you’re looking to play a lot of tennis during the long summer season. The official start to the summer play package is Monday May 21st and ends August 31st. Summer play members may play an unlimited number of times with no court fees, however, only one hour at a time may be reserved per day.

FITNESS
Group Core is finally here on Mondays at 7pm, Tuesdays at 10:30am, 5pm, Wednesdays at 8:15am and every other Saturday at 9am. Come out and give this exciting new 30min class a try. Tuesdays at 5:30pm after Group Core Jessica will take you through a lower body conditioning workout and every other Saturday after Group Core Petra will finish with the Sport Interval Training. These classes have already had rave reviews so come out and get your sweat on!
On June 14 from 4pm-7pm, will be our annual Heart and Stroke Spin a Thon. The difference this year is that it will be a club wide event including Tennis, Squash and Yoga in the park. This year’s event isMayfair’s Sport for Heart event and we are planning to have it become a huge success for many years to come. Book a bike, play some tennis, squash or do some yoga in the park for a great cause. We will be doing a couple of outdoor spins leading up to the event. We will also be putting a treadmill in the front entrance to try to raise even more money for the Heart and Stroke for all those who will not be able to attend the event.
Have you booked an assessment to try our new complete body composition weight scale? We can tell you what you real age is, how much muscle mass you have in each limb, body fat % as well as how much visceral fat you have around your organs and so much more. It will give you a great way to base and track your progress in the gym. It is better to know, than to not know and find out down the road you should have done more regarding your health. If you enjoy Pilates then the Reformer is a great way to take your Pilates training to the next level. We offer private and semi-private sessions with a certified Pilates instructor. AQUATICS
Through the use of properties of water, the participants are able to challenge their nervous and respiratory systems. Through gaining control of your balance, coordination, and endurance, you are in better control of the degree of difficulty of your workout. By using the water’s resistance instead of strenuous equipment, the body receives an all over workout while lessening the impact on your body. Additionally, because water decreases the amount of shock to your body it also decreases the joint loading. It really is the best work out for your body without impacting the muscle and joints. Aquafitness is a relaxing, social, safe, and gratifying class. It is also fabulous for pregnant women!! So what are you waiting for? Jump in!
Aquafit is on from 9:10-10:00 am, Monday to Friday with teachers Corina Smith, Tammy Valentini, Wendy Huisman and Dawn Chahine. Evening Aquafit runs Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 7:05-7:55pm.
Additionally there is an Aquafit class on Sundays at 4:05-4:55pm. Wendy Huisman is the instructor.
