We are currently hiring a full time Fitness/Gym Equipment Technician to work Monday to Friday days, with travel between two locations in GTA.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Routine / daily inspection of fitness club equipment including treadmills, spin cycles etc and their associated audio visual equipment (TV’s).
  • Maintain work log of preventative maintenance scheduled and completed for each piece of equipment.
  • Communicate and interact with club members and report their immediate concerns/complaints with respect to the equipment to front desk and facility manager.
  • Prioritize requests from staff and club members regarding immediate or necessary maintenance of equipment and ability to quickly take action to resolve the concerns.
  • Ensure gym facilities meet health and safety standards for equipment and associated machines i.e. no loose cords, safety hazards.
  • Assist Fitness and Facility Manager, with special projects related to the equipment on the gym floor, i.e. moving machines from one location to another to accommodate specific fitness classes.
  • Source, negotiate price for required parts and supplies for the maintenance of the fitness equipment.
  • Inventory all equipment and create and maintain ongoing service logs as per manufactures requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in diagnosing and fixing mechanical problems with machines such as treadmills, cycles etc.*
  • Excellent time management, as the job requires multi-site support.* *
  • Proven ability to prioritize daily/weekly activities based on scheduled preventative maintenance and immediate requests that come up during the day.* *
  • Experience in customer service, as the job interfaces with members and staff.*
  • Detail oriented and able to document and articulate status of work in english.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Provide a Police background check.
