Job Summary
Mayfair Clubs is a private club which offers members access to leading fitness, tennis and squash facilities in 4 locations across the Greater Toronto Area. For almost 50 years, Mayfair has offered the finest quality programs and activities in fitness and racquet sports. We are currently looking for a Human Resources Manager. This stand-alone position will be located in the Head Office (Mayfair Parkway at Woodbine & Steeles) in Markham, Ontario, and will be responsible for all 4 clubs.
As the HR Manager, you will provide exceptional customer service for Mayfair Managers and Employees. This multi-faceted role includes all aspects of HR. You will build a positive, professional and confidential rapport with all managers, employees and contractors providing a collaborative approach and fostering open, effective communication. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for:
Job Description:
- Full cycle recruitment including job postings, candidate sourcing using social media and traditional methods, interviews and offer letters
- Employee relations including performance management and terminations
- Employment risk mitigation including 3rd party negotiations and mediations
- Maintain HR data base including: employee set up, ongoing data entry and report generation
- Ensuring data integrity for employees and contractors
- Annual performance review process and merit increases as well as annual contractor renewals
- HR policy and program development
- Health and safety including managing WSIB claims, OH&S audits and training
- Maintaining consistency, equity and compliance throughout Mayfair
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources: CHRL designation an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist
- Ability to function independently with limited supervision
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with high attention to detail and organization
- Proven team player with ability to interact with multiple departments and locations
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products: including but not limed to Word, Excel etc and experience using an HRIS
- Proven knowledge of Ontario labour laws: including but not limited to ESA of Ontario, AODA and Human Rights etc
- Experience in Fitness, Recreation or Hospitality industry an asset
