IN HOUSE JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS

Mayfair West will be hosting some junior tournaments for kids in our junior program and Mayfair junior members in December. These will be  one-day events and be divided into age categories. They will be designed for inexperienced tournament players. MAYFAIR WEST LADIES TEAM TENNIS

Session 1: October 2020 – December 2020
Session 2: Will start in January, 2021

Mayfair West Ladies Team Tennis allows you to sign up with a partner (or we find you one) and play a weekly match against another Mayfair West team in your division.  If one player is unavailable, we get you a sub. Session 1 will run from October to December.  We will then look for the winners of each division (if they so choose) to play the winners of each division from the other Mayfair locations in the FINALS.   Session 2 will run from January to April with the same rules.  Please contact Ken Crosina if you would like to be a sub in the current program or to register for term two via email: kcrosina@mayfairclubs.com

We are excited to announce that we are even closer to launch for our live and on demand classes. They will launch this month so please stay tuned! We will be running live fitness classes and will have a library of On demand videos from all your favourite experts in Tennis, Squash, Fitness and Wellness.

SWIM LESSONS

Mayfair West will be hosting an accelerated session between November 23rd and December 20^th, and registration is coming soon! Lessons will be taught under the following structures:

• Every Monday and Wednesday
• Every Tuesday and Thursday
• Every Saturday and Sunday

At this time, we are only running private lessons, or semi-private lessons for children of the same household who are close to the same level. This applies to all levels that are Swim Patrol (Rookie, Ranger, Star), and lower. As recommended by the government, our instructors will be teaching lessons wearing appropriate PPE in the water, and will teach socially distanced as much as possible. With that being said, instructors will be ready to provide your children with limited hands on contact/correction if needed.

FALL 2020 SWIM LESSONS

Lessons run twice a week for a period of 4 weeks offering a total of 8 classes from November 23rd to December 20th. You can choose from the following days:

• Mondays & Wednesdays
• Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Saturdays & Sundays

WINTER 2021 SWIM LESSONS

Winter Lessons Registration is coming soon! Classes will begin Monday, January 4^th 2021.

Winter 2021 Session:

Lessons run once a week for a period of 9 weeks from January 4th until March 14th, plus 1 make-up (there will be no lessons on the following holiday (Family Day) Monday February 15, 2020. NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COURSE

Mayfair West will be hosting a National Lifeguard Course. This course is designed for participants who are interested in becoming a certified lifeguard. Participants will be provided with the knowledge, skills, and judgement necessary to lifeguard for a pool setting.

Course Details

• Dates: December 4^th to 13^th
• Days & Times: Fridays 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays 9:00am to 6:00pm
• Total Number of Classes: Six (6)
• Pre-Requisites: 15 years of age by the last class, Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid Certification
• Cost: $450 for members, and $550 for non-members
• Minimum Registrants Needed: Six (6)

Euchre Nights – Wednesday November 11 & November 25 at 7:00 p.m.

• Very similar to our Euchre Nights in the bistro, including prizes for the top 3 players.
• We will be using Trickstercards.com. This website allows us to invite specific players and see & speak to each other while we play.
• There will be a maximum of 8 tables, or 32 players.
• You will play with a set group of four players and rotate partners after each game to 10 points.
• The top 3 players with the highest total point average will win prizes, which will be given out when the club re-opens.
• Members and guests are welcome to sign-up.

Bridge Club – Thursday November 19 at 7:00 p.m.

• Please join us for our Complimentary Thursday Night Bridge Club on Bridge Base Online (BBO).
• Players should already be familiar with the free Bridge Base Online before they sign up.
• To register, please email me your BBO username.
• Please email me each week you would like to play, to confirm you are in for that week.
• If you have friends that you would like to play with, please let me know when you register. Otherwise I will assume that you are open to joining a new group of players from Mayfair.
• Once I get all the registrants, I will arrange people in groups of 4 to play together.
• I will share the names and BBO usernames of all 4 people at your bridge table.
• I will assign a LEAD to each table group who will start the table, on BBO at the set time, and reserve the other three usernames.
• It’s recommended that you friend/follow the other three usernames to know if they are online and to chat with them if needed.
• Please let me know if you are comfortable to be a table LEAD when you register.

It has been proven that enhancing word processing skills benefit children during their school years. Increasingly, this digital tool is the expected standard by teachers for students to write reports, essays, class projects and more. In this one-hour tutorial, facilitator Barry Rosenthal, will introduce learners to the most essential features of the software and provide the training to improve their usage of this essential tool. Our two, one-hour classes, will give kids a head start teaching students how to enter information to create representations of their data that are meaningful to them. Learning how to create spreadsheets also enables students to complete more complex math tasks and will give them an edge to accelerate their learning. From Rookie to Champion: Fueling Your Kids for Sport Success

• This 6-week program will give parents the knowledge to fuel their kids for their sport and athletic activities. Whether your kids are just getting started or competing in a sport – nutrition is a key component of their success.
• Each one-hour session, conducted live on ZOOM, will include tips and tricks, easy, kid friendly recipes, and live cooking demonstrations with a certified nutritionist.
