    Come join us Welcome Fall at the West with a night of sample food pairings, featured drinks and a live DJ. Please note that there will be no a’la carte service this evening.   • PA DAY MULTI SPORT CAMP

    October 1, 9, 11, 15, 21 & 22| 9:00 am-4:00 pm |

    This October, fill your child’s PA Days by learning sport skills and drills, sportsmanship and plenty of fun games & activities. NEW THIS YEAR, the addition of a one hour tennis clinic for our campers.  Swimming is included in the afternoon session for a refreshing end to a fun-filled day. Member pricing is $85 for full day, $55 for half day (non member pricing available as well).   • Mayfair West Singles Challenge Ladder

    Oct 1 – April 30 | TBA | Session | $30

    The Fall/Winter Singles Challenge Ladder at Mayfair West begins on October 1st and runs until the end of April. This is your chance to play singles matches and be grouped with players based on your tennis rating. Box winners will receive monthly prizes and there will be session prizes handed out in at the end of each three-month session (Oct-Dec, Jan-March) for the players with the most points and for those who played all their matches. The cost to join is $30 + HST (which covers participation until the end of April) and registration forms will be available at the front desk.   • Mayfair West Under 16 Transition Tour

    Thanksgiving long weekend. We offer a main draw and a consolation draw for those who lose their first match. Draws are limited to 16 boys and 16 girls and priority will be given to those players who are born 2003 and 2004 over younger players.   • Mayfair West Junior Tennis, Fall 2019

    Sept 7 to Dec 20 | Days, times and Prices vary

    There are still spots available in our Junior Tennis program for kids age 4 to 6. Our class sizes are small ratio to maximize the learning experience. Classes are available on Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm as well as various times on Saturdays and Sundays.

    Please note that there are no classes on Thanksgiving Long Weekend. (Friday Oct. 11 – Mon. Oct. 14)

  • KRAV MAGA SPECIAL MARTIAL ARTS DEMO CLASS

    October 17th | 1 HR | Thursday October the 17th at 9am with Niv Goffman

    Krav Maga is a military self-defence and fighting system developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israeli security forces. It is derived from a combination of techniques sourced from boxing, wrestling, aikido, judo and karate, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency.

    Niv Goffman is an Instructor of Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, and Kickboxing. He is a former member of the Israeli military. His service included participation in an Elite Counter Terror Unit for the Israel Defense Force (2009-2012). He is a 3 time National MMA Champion (Israel) and a 3 time Second Place winner in Israeli Martial Arts competition. He has 16 years of MMA training with Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Black Belt in Israeli Martial Arts.

  • TABATA BLAST

    Now Available | 1 HR | Mondays 5:30 and Thursdays at 7:00 pm with Katya, Tuesdays at 7:30 pm with TBA, Thursdays at 9:00 am with Joanna Behar

    A Tabata Format class, The Tabata Blast has you doing 4 or 5 rounds, 2 exercises per round, 1 cardio, 1 strength. Using the Tabata protocol this class will take you to the limit.   • POWER UP

    Now Available | 1 HR | Mondays at 9 am with Martine Fletcher, and 6: 30 pm with Katie Snow

    Power Up class Series -The Power Up Series of classes exploits the use of 60% of 1 rep max exercise protocols. This class develops strength power, coordination, and technique. The POWER UP series of classes’ consists of anywhere from 5 to 25 exercises, each done for 30 seconds, repeated thru 4 to 6 cycles. The instructor will decide on a total body, upper body, lower body, core workout or a combination of all.   • GO ROW

    Now Available | 1 HR | Tuesdays at 9:00 am with Martine Fletcher

    This class is all about teamwork. 4 to 8 teams work to hit distance or workload bench marks set up by the instructor. The race is on to see to gets there first.   • POWER UP CORE

    Now Available | 30 Mins I Tuesdays at 5:30 pm with Audrey Yagod

    POWER UP CORE is part of the “Power Up” series of classes. The CORE is where all the power comes from. In order to establish a good stable base from which to work, you need a good strong Core. This class develops strength power, coordination, and technique. The POWER UP CORE class consists of anywhere from 5 to 25 exercises, each done for 30 seconds, repeated thru 4 to 6 cycles. If you want to burn some serious calories and reshape via increased metabolic rate, and build a powerful mid section, then this is the class for you.   • BALLET BARRE

  • COUNTDOWN

    Now Available | 1 HR Wednesdays at 7:30 pm with TBA

    The Countdown, is a multi dimensional, exercise class that has you doing 8 exercises 10 reps, 10 cycles utilizing the every minute on the minute (EMOM) format counting down to a single rep. Sounds simple but don’t let the simplicity fool you. The class is over when the last rep is done. Always changing, never the same class twice.     Adult fitness swim

    | Sept –Nov | Monday-Thursday 7:30-8:30|Thursday 6:15 am, 7:00 am for daytime option **NEW**

    Private options and alternate times may also be  available

    Taught by our aquatics manager, the Adult fitness swim program is for individuals seeking an alternative to conventional fitness. The program is designed to enhance swimming abilities, improve swim stroke technique and personal fitness. With proper training, you will build up endurance so you can swim continuously without stopping. You will also improve swim strokes and breathing through drills.

     

    Parent & Tot program, Preschool A-E & Swimmer 1-6:

    |Start date Sept -Nov| Monday 10 am – 2 pm| Monday –Thurs 3:00-8:00| Sat – Sunday 9:00-6:00|

    Our preschool levels are designs for students from ages 2-5. Students work on their floats, glides, flutter kicks, side breathing, front & back swim.

    Our swimmer levels are for all swimmers ages 6+. Swimmers are taught the proper swim techniques and skills. Our swim instructors work with each child individually to ensure adequate progression.  Each student will be working on developmental steps throughout the session in order to accomplish the swim levels.  Private classes, Semi-private classes and or Group lessons are available. All classes are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour in length.

     

    Sport Fundamental program:

    Semi-private classes and or Group lessons are available.

    The Sport program focuses on all stroke improvements, sprints and endurance changes. Participants will complete challenging skills sequences, covering all swim strokes and some pre-lifeguarding skills.

     

    Rookie, Ranger & Ranger star:

    |Start dates: Sept –Nov | Monday –Thurs 3:00-8:00| Sat – Sunday 9:00-6:00

    This course is for students who have completed all swim levels and are looking for a challenge. Swim patrol training puts your child en route to Lifeguarding. These courses include a first aid component and swim technique component.

     

    Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross:

    |Start date Sept –Nov | Sunday Times: 9:00-11:00 | Wednesday Times: 7:15-8:00|
    Bronze medallion and Bronze Cross programs are designed for all candidates who are seeking a thrill in the lifeguarding challenge.  Bronze star candidates must be 12yrs old. Bronze Med candidates must be 13 year of age & Bronze cross candidate must be 13+ and have bronze medallion +emergency first aid.) *Completion of these courses is mandatory for those who wish to become certified lifeguards.*

    Advanced swimming:  Swim team:

    | Sept –Nov | Monday –Thurs 3:00-8:00| Sat – Sunday 9:00-6:00|

    This program is designed for swimmers who have completed all of their swim levels and want to improve their overall physical fitness in the water. The swim team provides a structured approach based on training principles and practices. Participants will be encouraged to set their own goals through interval training.

  • KIDS SPORT

    Tuesday 4:30-6:30 & Sunday | 10:30-12:30 |

    Join us for our brand new Kids Sport Class created for members 8-12 years old. Join us in the Multi Gym on Tuesday’s from 4:30-6:30 and Sunday’s from 10:30-12:30. These classes are designed to focus on different sports & athletic games where we have an emphasis on sport fundamentals, getting kids active and leadership capabilities. Tuesday activities entail: Warm up, Obstacle courses, Basketball, Fitness & Cool Down/ Stretch. Sunday activities entail:Warm up, soccer, floor hockey, fitness & Cool down/ Stretch. Looking forward to seeing your kids get active with us!   • Welcome Dru to our RMT team in the West Spa

    Droughan “Dru” Costello has been involved in team and individual sports as a competitor, coach and mentor his whole life. While running with a track and field club, playing hockey and tennis as a teenager he was introduced to Registered Massage Therapy as a way of treating injuries and providing relaxation techniques for improved mental focus. Subsequently, Dru has consistently sought it out as a form of preventative health care to treat soft tissue injuries and to provide overall wellness.

    After the days of organized competition ended, and knowing he wanted to share the benefits of RMT, Droughan attended Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic where he took specialty clinics in sports massage and spinal cord injuries along with 2,200 hours of study in clinics and the classroom. He graduated from the program in 2009.
