Club News

To celebrate the West Grand Reopening this September, we are offering a promotion of 80% off the initiation fee for our Bronze Fitness Memberships at our Uptown Clubs. Offer applies from September 1st, 2018 until September 30th, 2018. Eddie has been working professionally as a personal trainer for the past 10 years, and has been training himself for the past 18 years. With his background in Kinesiology, Eddie has helped countless of clients reach their fitness goals. Eddie has worked at Mayfair Parkway as a Personal Trainer for the past two years and this summer he entered into a Naturals Physique Competition. Read his training story up on our blog now!

Our Mayfair Member Spotlight for the month of September is Mayfair West member Axelle Vaughan. Axelle has been a member at Mayfair West for 4 years, along with her mother, husband and five kids. The West offers  5-8 teams in the Indoor East Ladies League for players of all skill levels.  We have teams in divisions from Premiere right through to C level. The cost is $20.00 plus HST per tryout. Ladies MUST register with Ken Crosina at to secure a spot.

June 4 – September 16 | $30
The Mayfair West Summer Ladder has been pushed back to start in the first week of June and will now run until mid-September. This is your chance to play singles matches and be grouped with players based on your tennis rating. Box winners will receive monthly prizes and there will be session prizes handed out in September for the players with the most points and for those who played all their matches in this three-month session. The cost to join is $30 + HST and registration forms will be available at the front desk. For more information, contact Josh Weissman at or at extension 4245.

Registration has officially begun for the Fall session of the Mayfair West Junior Tennis program. Classes are available for kids aged 4-16 of various levels. This year, we are introducing a competitive Junior League for all Red, Orange and Green level players. Sign up for swimming and receive a 5% discount on tennis programming. Deadline September 17th. Group Fitness


This is an easy ‘follow the leader’ movement class designed to channel your inner dancer. The class starts with a series of individually taught steps, which are later used to form a choreographed routine. See the full group exercise schedule at

This class is an interval circuit class that combines Cardio, Strength, Flexibility and Core work for an all-out full body workout. This class is not to be missed! See the full group exercise schedule at

Class participation in the design of the workout is the name of the game here. The instructor leads the class in terms of the format of the class and the participants call the shots in terms of exercise. The addition of 360 suspension training (like TRX on steroids) takes the class to the next level. See the full group exercise schedule at

This full body workout that will get you sweating as our instructor challenges you by starting with cycling drills for a warm up and cardio workout, finishing with boxing drills on the heavy bag and conditioning work. See the full group exercise schedule at

This class is a must for everyone. The focus is on the muscles that keep us upright, moving with power and protect us from injury. Namely the core muscles of the abdomen, back, and pelvic floor. A strong focus on the muscles of the hip is also part of the curriculum.  Mobility, balance, strength, and rehab elements are all benefits of the class. See the full group exercise schedule at

Functional Spinal Health is a class based on the ELDOA technique which promotes overall joint health but pays particular attention to spinal health. You may notice an improvement in joint mechanics, Increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the discs of the spine, reduction of pain, spinal disc re-hydration, better muscle tone, improved posture and a general sense of well-being and awareness. This class is a Fusion of Pilates and Yoga. In this class, participants will be using props to strengthen core and increase flexibility while mindfully relaxing and de-stressing. See the full group exercise schedule at

This is a class that will help you lose body fat, gain strength without bulk, decrease your risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, back pain, and improve athletic performance. This should be a staple of anyone’s workout for all the reasons. See the full group exercise schedule at

Personal Training

Members can try out Elite Small Group training on our brand new Connexus Perimeter Functional Training Units.  Class max of 6 people. Classes will be complimentary that week. Please sign up with Kerry Lloyd.  Time of classes and day to be announced.


Fall 2018: SWIM SESSION:
Registration is currently open for Fall 2018. Limited space available.

Parent & Tot program, Preschool A-E & Swimmer 1-6:
Starts September – November | Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 8:00pm | Saturday – Sunday 9:00am – 6:00pm

Our preschool levels are designs for students from ages 2-5. Students work on their floats, glides, flutter kicks, side breathing, front & back swim.

Our swimmer levels are for all swimmers ages 6+ Swimmers are taught the proper swim techniques and skills. Our swim instructors work with each child individually to make sure that they are taught the proper swimming skills and techniques.  Each student will be working on progressive steps throughout the session to accomplish the swim levels.  Private classes, Semi-private classes and or group lessons are available. All classes are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour.

Sport Fundamental program:
September – November | Monday – Sunday
Semi-private classes and or Group lessons are available. The Sport program focuses on all stroke improvements, sprints and endurance changes. Participants will complete challenging skills sequences, covering all swim strokes and some pre-lifeguarding skills.

Rookie, Ranger & Ranger star:
September – November | Monday – Thursday or Saturday & Sunday
This course is for students who has completed all swim levels and are looking for a challenge. Swim patrol training puts your child on the path to Lifeguarding.

Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross:
September – November | Times: 9:00am – 11:00am | Sundays
Bronze medallion and Bronze Cross program programs are design for all candidates who are seeking a trill in the lifeguarding challenge.  Bronze star candidates must be 12yrs old. Bronze Med candidates must be 13 year of age & Bronze cross candidate must be 13+ and have bronze medallion + emergency first aid.)

Advanced swimming:  Swim team:
September – June  | Tuesdays | 7:00am – 8:00am
This program is designed for swimmers who have completed all of their swim levels and want to improve their overall physical fitness in the water. The swim team provides a structured approach based on training principles and practices. Participants will be encouraged to set their own goals through interval training.

Master swim:
September – December | Tuesdays | 7:00am – 8:00am
Participant must know how to swim. The master swim program is for individuals seeking an alternative to conventional fitness. The program is designed to enhance competitive swimming abilities, improve swim stroke technique and personal fitness. With proper training, you will build up endurance, so you can swim continuously without stopping. You will also improve swim strokes and breathing through drills.

Refer a new swimmer and receive a $10.00 discount. (Referred students must be someone how has never taken swim lessons at Mayfair)


Join us on September 29 from 11:30am – 4:00pm for our complimentary day to welcome you all to our new and improved Kidspace! No longer being held in the Bistro, our staff invite you to our new space for your kids to run around, play games and enjoy having fun with us and make new friends! Please note the hours effective September 30th, 2018:

  • Monday – Tuesday: 4:00pm-7:00pm
  • Saturday – Sunday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Session 1 for Karate begins this month. Work with our Senei’s to develop your skills and earn your belts. Monday classes begin October 1. Ages 4-6 run from 5:10-5:40pm and ages 7+ run from 5:45-6:30pm. Saturday classes begin September 29. Session 1 for Hip Hop begins this month! Learn dance fundamentals while incorporating games and fun activities to music. Sunday  classes begin September 30.
