Bronze Star +  Basic First Aid is the pre-Bronze Medallion training standard and excellent preparation for success in Bronze Medallion. Basic First Aid includes how to contact emergency medical services, rescue breathing, how to treat choking and minor injuries. Pre-Requisites: None (Swim Patrol Experience is recommended).

Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safety supervision in aquatic facilities. Pre-Requisites: Bronze Medallion and Emergency or Standard First Aid Evaluation: Items are evaluated by a qualified Lifesaving Examiner.

Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles, embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness.

Pre-Requisites: Bronze Star (recommended). If candidate does not have Bronze Star, they must be 13 years old on the day of the exam.
