DOUBLES NIGHT AT MAYFAIR EAST

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 

Join Teaching Professional Akemi Seiriki from 8:30pm – 10:30 pm for our Doubles Mixers.

We book the courts, provide new balls and schedule competitive and fun doubles matchups.

• Tuesdays are for players rated 2.75 to 3.25
• Wednesdays are for players rated 3.5 – 4.0
• Thursdays are for players rated 4.0 +

Fee is $24, per session, you sign-up on a week-to-week basis and minimum 8 players required.

SESSION 2 OF THE SINGLES CHALLENGE LADDER

Starts the week of November 29^th

For those rated 2.5 – 5.0, who like playing competitive and fun singles and meeting new friends.

• There are 4 sessions of 5 remaining. Each session is 5 weeks in length, where you schedule and play one hour matches against 5 players of similar playing ability.
• There are Mayfair gift cards for the top 6-point getters, prizes for top participation for the entire season and NEW session prizes as well.
• Cost:  $50 for the entire season.
• Season ends Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Adult Singles Clinics:

Mondays | 5-7 PM (30 minute classes)
This class is meant for beginners looking at learning the game of squash. During these classes you will learn the rules, technique and strategy to begin playing matches. The idea is for you to attend classes until you are able to play in the Monday Night House League.

Each week Willie Hosey will match you up with a partner and two other teams of your level. Each team will play the other two teams in their group 3 games. The team that wins the most games that week wins. Each week teams and opponents will be switch.

Its not too late to late to jump into this session.  Adult and Youth programs are readily available, ranging from pure beginner to even the most advanced Master swimmers. If you or your young ones are looking for a new form of fitness, rehabilitating an injury, or trying to improve your game off court – the pool should be your go to this season.

• Very similar to our Euchre Nights in the bistro, including prizes for the top 3 players.
• We will be using Trickstercards.com. This website allows us to invite specific players and see & speak to each other while we play.
• There will be a maximum of 8 tables, or 32 players.
• You will play with a set group of four players and rotate partners after each game to 10 points.
• The top 3 players with the highest total point average will win prizes, which will be given out when the club re-opens.

Bridge Club – Thursday November 19 at 7:00 p.m.

• Please join us for our Complimentary Thursday Night Bridge Club on Bridge Base Online (BBO).
• Players should already be familiar with the free Bridge Base Online before they sign up.
• To register, please email me your BBO username.
• Please email me each week you would like to play, to confirm you are in for that week.
• If you have friends that you would like to play with, please let me know when you register. Otherwise I will assume that you are open to joining a new group of players from Mayfair.
• We will arrange people in groups of 4 to play together.
• Names and BBO usernames of all 4 people at your bridge table will be emailed to you.
• A LEAD will be assigned to each table group who will start the table, on BBO at the set time, and reserve the other three usernames.
• It’s recommended that you friend/follow the other three usernames to know if they are online and to chat with them if needed.

It has been proven that enhancing word processing skills benefit children during their school years. Increasingly, this digital tool is the expected standard by teachers for students to write reports, essays, class projects and more. In this one-hour tutorial, facilitator Barry Rosenthal, will introduce learners to the most essential features of the software and provide the training to improve their usage of this essential tool. Our two, one-hour classes, will give kids a head start teaching students how to enter information to create representations of their data that are meaningful to them. Learning how to create spreadsheets also enables students to complete more complex math tasks and will give them an edge to accelerate their learning. • This 6-week program will give parents the knowledge to fuel their kids for their sport and athletic activities. Whether your kids are just getting started or competing in a sport – nutrition is a key component of their success.
• Each one-hour session, conducted live on ZOOM, will include tips and tricks, easy, kid friendly recipes, and live cooking demonstrations with a certified nutritionist.

GET YOUR RACQUET STRUNG

Did you know that Mayfair Clubs has expert racquet stringers in their Sports Shops? Racquets need to be restrung for different reasons – broken string, loose strings or perhaps a player wants to try a different type of string or tension. Our experts recommend restringing your racquet 4-5 times a year or if you’re an avid player even more.

With that said, the best way to know if you need to change your strings is to take your racquet to an experienced stringer. The role of the stringer is to help the players find the best string for their game, but more importantly, the right tension for them.
