    • Tennis Updates

      Mayfair West Challenge Ladder – Fall 2023

      Looking to play singles matches with players of a similar level? Sign up for the co-ed Mayfair West Challenge Ladder, where you’ll be grouped with four or five other players to play monthly matches. We offer prizes per three-month session, with the November ladder beginning on the 7th. (registration deadline: Sunday, November 5th)

      IMPORTANT: Mayfair has joined forces with Tennis Canada and the International Tennis Federation to be able to provide our members with a tennis rating system.  Our tennis ladders, inter-Mayfair leagues, Interclub league matches, friendly matches and more will be used to create your ITF World Tennis Number.  Your rating will be used to assist us in team selections, setting you up with other members for friendly games, registration for programs and so much more.  The ITF World Tennis Number rating system is used in over 135 Countries which will enhance your tennis experience if you travel too.

      Below, is a link to sign up for a new account.   Sign up today so you are ready for our Fall singles challenge ladders, Mayfair leagues, and so much more.  Start working on your ITF World Tennis Number!!

      INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING AN ACCOUNT

      • Step 1: Visit the national-provincial match play platform, by going to https://tc.tournamentsoftware.com/user?returnUrl=%2F
      • Step 2: Sign up for a new account.
      • Step 3: Select your Provincial Tennis Association.
      • Step 4: Accept the terms and condition.
      • Step 5: Fill in your personal details.
      • Step 6: Select “Recreational” membership type (free of cost), select “ON North York” as your region; from there you must choose “Mayfair West” as your club.
      • Step 7: Create a login and password for the account.
      • Step 8: Activate account using the email link.
      • From there, click on “Ladders” on the left side of your home page and search for “Mayfair West” to sign up. The entry fee to participate for the entire Fall/Winter session is $40 + HST, which will processed through your Mayfair account in October.

      Mayfair West Adult Group Clinics/Mixers

      We offer a variety of group tennis programming throughout the week for a variety of levels of play from beginner to advanced. You can register up to 6 days in advance for any of these programs by going to Mayfair Clubs mobile app. Once you’re logged in, go to Tennis à Programs, then select the date you want to attend.       Mayfair West Junior Tennis – Winter/Spring 2024 (registration begins November 1st)

      Registration for term 2 of our Junior Tennis program (which runs January 8th to June 23rd) begins on November 1st, at which time all members will receive an e-mail with an online registration link.  We offer small-group classes for kids of all levels and ages as young as 4 and as old as 16.

      NEW! 20/20 Workout with Rachel Nir 

      Available | 45 mins | Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:30pm 

      The 20/20 workout is a constantly changing workout that is formatted in 2, 20 min segments finishing with a stretch cool down. It is an instructors and members choice class and could be organized as a cardio and strength, Plyometrics and core, Dance and stretch, the combinations are many. It could incorporate dumbbells, balls, barbells etc. The benefits of this workout include mobility, bone health, balance, improved range of motion, along with overall muscular strength and conditioning.       Pilates Mat is a series of floor exercises designed by Joseph Pilates that focus on breath, concentration, control, centering and precision. These exercises are designed to uniformly strengthen the body as a whole creating a balance of strength and flexibility.     • Swim Updates

      Swim Camps | Registration Now Open

      Our Splash & Laugh Camps include recreational swimming and sports. Campers will participate in water sports and games as well as one hour of formal swim lessons with certified instructors.

      Swim lessons are done in a group setting with a 1:6 ratio and include stroke correction, body buoyancy, and in-water skill development. Campers will learn to strengthen their swim skills in a fun and safe environment. Campers are not required to have any swim experience and will be separated into groups based on skills.

      Lifejackets are provided and will be placed on campers in lower levels and removed throughout the lesson as this is part of the Lifesaving course criteria. When not in the pool, campers will be playing a variety of indoor/outdoor sports and games such as relay races, soccer, parachute play, freeze tag, kickball, and dance games to name a few.

      Lunch is provided for full-day and half-day morning campers.  Snacks are not provided, so we ask that campers bring nut-free snacks for them to enjoy throughout the day.

      NEW! Intensive Swim Program | Running Nov – Dec

      This intensive program will help swimmers work towards completing their swim level in an accelerated session. Our certified swim instructors will work with swimmers 5 days a week for a 2-week period (Mon-Fri) and help them work towards earning their swim badge! This session includes 9 lessons plus one make up.

      Mayfair West Junior Pickleball | Winter/Spring 2024

      Registration begins November 1st

      Registration for term 2 of our Junior Pickleball program (which runs January 9th to April 13th) begins on November 1st, at which time all members will receive an e-mail with an online registration link. We offer classes at an 8:1 ratio for kids age 8-11 and 11-14.

      • Ages 8-11 will have classes offered on Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm and Saturdays 12:30-1:30pm.
      • Ages 11-14 will have classes offered on Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm and Saturdays 1:30-2:30pm.
